Program Note:
Continental Drift is a brief yet dynamic etude seeking out Pangean movements or changes from unity to fragmentation. This music focuses on elements of dynamic contrast through a near virtuosic color palette of articulation and volume. Each performer’s individual understanding and mastering of their dynamic landscape ultimately directs the listener to an overarching composite melodic and rhythmic sound; in considering the sum we more wholly view of individual locale.
Continental Drift was comissioned by The Hartt Community Division for their 2014 Chamber Music Festival.
